Earlier this year Thaikhun, the casual dining restaurant chain from the owners of Chaophraya Thai Restaurant Group, opened a site at the intu Metrocentre in Gateshead. The 4,500 sq.ft. site is the group’s first venture in the North East. Thaikhun translates as ‘your Thailand’ and the underlying theme of the restaurant’s décor intends to remind past visitors of their visit as well as entice future holiday makers. Thaikhun’s menu is inspired by street food sellers in Thailand and includes dishes such as Thai salads and stir-fry as well as a range of curries and rice and noodles.
“Working with such a passionate restaurant brand is always a pleasure. Thaikhun spend a lot of time and effort to ensure that the food and experience it provides is authentic and a real Thai experience. The group also has a strong pipeline of openings lined up for the coming years and we can’t wait to see how the restaurant chain expands across the country”.
