Maintenance Supervisor

Due to continued growth we are now looking to appoint an additional Maintenance Supervisor to work alongside an existing team, reporting directly to our Maintenance Manager and indirectly to the Head of Maintenance. This role with oversee three maintenance administrators who are each in turn responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance services to over 1,000 sites on a daily basis.

Daily duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Acting as a escalation point for reactive calls
  • Ensuring the Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule is delivered in a timely manner
  • Maintaining client relationships
  • Overseeing the allocation of sub-contract labour
  • Organising small works
  • Overseeing the quotes / invoicing process
  • Site / client visits as and when required
  • Reporting via internal systems
  • Daily supervision of a team of 3 Administrators
  • Managing a changing workload
  • Working towards agreed SLA’s
  • Understanding P&L financial statements

This is an office based position and will suit a skilled individual with strong customer service background. Applicants will need to develop an understanding of HVAC systems and control panels with the ability to relay technical information via the telephone. Therefore excellent communication skills are essential as is the ability to support and develop junior team members.

Project Manager (German Speaking)

Chapman Ventilation is a market leader within the HVAC industry. Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint skilled Project Managers (German Speaking) to complement our existing European projects team. The role requires travel throughout the whole of Germany, visiting new, existing and completing projects so applicants need to understand that this may involve overnight stays away from home.

The role of Project Manager (German Speaking) encompasses the following duties:

  • Project planning, budgeting and identification of resources
  • Producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Reacting to problems on a project by project basis
  • Periodic sites visits (weekly) to monitor progress, resolve issues and implement revisions
  • Supervising a sub-contractor labour force
  • Planning and making revisions as and when required
  • Completing weekly Tool Box Talks to ensure a high level of site Health & Safety

As a Project Manager (German Speaking) you are the person responsible for the delivery of the project, on time and within budget. You will be working with specified clients and will be tasked with developing those relationships and supporting multiple projects at any given time.

  • Fluent in German and English
  • Be degree educated in Mechanical Engineering
  • Have 2 years + post qualification experience ideally within a (junior) Project Management role
  • Be able to travel on a country wide basis every week

Service Leavers Insight Day

We’re hosting a Service Leavers Insight Day on Thursday 19th April. It’s part of our corporate covenant commitment to ensure that those looking to leave the forces aren’t faced with disadvantage and to try and make the transition to a civilian career as easy as possible. The aim of the day is for you to gain a valuable insight into the kind of civilian roles you might want to pursue.

The day will involve a tour of our factory and offices in Welwyn plus a trip into London to visit some our live sites. The insight day will start at midday and last for up to three hours. In that time we’ll meet up with a couple of Project Managers and industry representatives including principle main site contractors.

The Service Leaver Day would be ideal for someone with a Mechanical Engineering background.

Skilled Welders

We are currently looking for fully skilled welders to work for our progressive and industry leading organisation.

• Experience in TIG is essential.

• Capable of welding stainless steel sheets as thin as 0.9mm

• You must have a keen eye for detail and relevant experience in order to be successful in this role.

• A good understanding of 3D and 2D CAD drawings is essential as well as general fabrication.

• You will have to be able to work in a fast pace environment and work well in a team.

• Would offer extremely competitive rates of pay plus opportunities for career progression for the right candidate

• This is an immediate start position on a temp to perm basis.
