Five Guys to open smaller format sites

According to the MCA, U.S burger chain Five Guys plans to open two sites under a smaller format after securing sites in Richmond and Chelsea. The company, which is on course to operate 79 U.K. sites by the end of this year, will have a smaller format focusing more on the take away element. It will feature less seating but will not comprise on space for the groups production line. Five Guys plans to open up to 30 new sites across Continental Europe next year, whilst also looking to add 15-20 sites in the UK. The group will open in York, Colchester and Westfield Stratford before the end of the year, which will take the company to 20 openings this year.
