Armed Forces and Reservist Day 2015

reserves day

It’s that time of year where the country shows its support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community. On Wednesday 24th July it is Reservist Day. Reservists are called up to supplement the Regular Forces whenever the operational demands require it. They give up their spare time, balancing their own working life with a military career, to ensure that they would be ready to serve as part of the military if there was ever any need. Later on in the week, on Saturday 27th July it’s Armed Forces Day for those who are currently serving in the Regular Forces. You will be able to spot The Armed Forces Day Flag raised on buildings and famous landmarks such as 10 Downing Street, governmental departments and local authorities.

Here at Chapman’s we have people from all walks of life, including Reservists and Service Leavers. Being a part of the Corporate Covenant, we seek to support the employment of veterans young and old as well as supporting those who choose to be members of the Reserve Forces. It’s important to us to help a Service Leaver get back into full-time civilian employment. That’s why we’ve changed our logo. It’s a small gesture, but hopefully it says a lot.

If you are free this weekend and want to do something to celebrate Armed Forces Day then head to Guildford for a show of military displays, live music and entertainment.
